“Problems Over Production is Gonna Get You Cut”: Cam Newton Sends Strong Warning to Puka Nacua…

Puka Nacua has had a great season for the Los Angeles Rams in the 2025 season. The franchise had a 12-5 record in the regular season and were second in the NFC West division. They lost out in the playoffs with a 31-27 narrow loss to eventual winners the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game.

The players are now enjoying the offseason, with Nacua in particular having a lot of fun. However, he is now in serious trouble.

Nacua is currently facing a lawsuit over multiple incidents. He has allegedly bitten two women and made an antisemitic remark. The lawsuit is ongoing, putting much pressure on the wide receiver though no criminal charges have been reported. He has denied all allegations through his attorney and labeled it as a blackmail attempt.

Amid the drama, former quarterback Cam Newton has offered his take and some advice to the player. On his “[4th & 1 with Cam Newton](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmXCMYfjKjs)” podcast, Newton said that Nacua has to focus on his on-field performance over off-field problems, “Production over problems can still get you paid. Problem over production is gonna get you cut. … He ain’t fumbling in the bag yet, because that production is still hot.”

Newton also likened Nacua’s situation to former NFL wide receiver Randy Moss. He said, “I’m gonna give you some examples. Randy Moss. Everybody knows the Patriots’ Randy Moss. Everybody knows the Minnesota Vikings’ Randy Moss. Well, people don’t know the Raiders’ Randy Moss. They don’t know the Tennessee Titans’ Randy Moss. And for some, they don’t know the 49ers’ Randy Moss. People are not able to discern what’s going through certain individuals’ minds. But we all have an ego. And each of us is two of us.”

Newton’s warning is important as it suggests that as long as Nacua keeps performing, he will not face problems from his franchise no matter what he does off-the-field.

The civil lawsuit against Nacua was filed by a woman named Madison Atiabi in the Los Angeles Superior Court. According to the lawsuit, Nacua was with a group and attended dinner on New Year’s Eve 2025 in Century City. During the dinner, he allegedly made an unprovoked antisemitic remark and said “f\*\*\* all the Jews”. Atiabi is a Jewish woman and claimed this caused her emotional distress.

She further alleged that they were together riding in a Sprinter van, where Nacua became intoxicated and acted freely. He bit Atiabi on her left shoulder and also bit one of her female friends on the thumb which caused her pain. The lawsuit seeks damages for gender violence, assault and battery, and negligence, citing physical injury, pain, suffering, medical expenses, and severe emotional distress.

Puka Nacua will have to battle against the lawsuit and also focus on the 2026 NFL season.
