Carlos Boozer and CeCe Boozer are the parents of Duke basketball stars Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer, aka The Boozer Twins, and they have played a major role in their sons’ basketball journey. 1. Carlos Boozer Is a Former NBA All-Star Who Still Shows Up for His Twin Sons
Carlos, who was also a basketball star at Duke, built a successful NBA career before becoming one of the most visible supporters of his sons. He played for teams including the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Lakers and was a two-time NBA All-Star.He also won a gold medal with Team USA in 2008.
Now, Boozer rarely misses a game.
“That’s why I ain’t missing no games,” Carlos said toAndscape. “I told CeCe this could be the last time our boys play together.”
He added that Cameronis expected to enter the NBA draft, while Cayden may return for another season.
“We have to go to as many games as possible, and we’re not taking it for granted,” Carlos said.
2. CeCe Boozer Met Carlos in College & Built a Life Beyond Basketball
CeCe met Carlos while they were students at Duke. According toThe Salt Lake Tribune, she first noticed him as a freshman and later reached out to him through the student directory.
The two married in 2002before divorcing in 2015, butthey have continued to co-parent their children.
CeCe has also built her own career. A formerdivision 1 volleyball player, she later founded an assisted living business inspired by her desire to help her mother.
“It’s something completely different that I’ve never done before,” CeCe said on the“Grown Woman with Shannon Allen” podcast. “I feel like this is something that I feel proud of.”
3. The Boozer Twin’s Family Faced a Major Health Challenge Early On
The Boozer family experienced a major challenge when their oldest son, Carmani, was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia before birth.
“When we found out, it felt like our whole universe was crumbling around us,” Carlos said,according to the Tribune.
To help save him, CeCe underwent in vitro fertilization, which led to the birth of twins Cameron and Cayden in 2007. The twins’ umbilical cord stem cellswere used in a transplant that ultimately helped Carmani recover.
Carlos described how difficult that time was for the family.
“Igo there, and there wasn’t anyone there. That is when I felt empty,”he said, recalling long nights at the hospital.
The transplant was successful, and Carmani recovered.
4. CeCe Boozer Is Known for Her Support & Standout Game-Day Style
CeCe has become a recognizable presence at Duke games, often drawing attention for her customized Duke attire.
She recently wore a custom jacket featuring both Cameron and Cayden’s photos with “BOOZER” across the back during a game against North Carolina.
Her support extends beyond fashion. She frequently shares messages celebrating her sons’ growth and accomplishments.
“I am so proud of your journey these past 4 years,” CeCewrote on Instagram after their high school graduation. “You have both been amazing students while accomplishing your goals on the basketball court simultaneously.”
5. The Boozer Twins Are Leading Duke During a Major NCAA Tournament Run
Carlos has watched Cameron and Cayden lead Duke during the 2026 NCAA Tournament, understanding thattheir time playing together may be limited.
Cayden spoke about how important their parents’ presence has been.
“I think he’s only missed one game, so he basically has been to every game, especially with my mom too,” Caydentold People ahead of March Madness. “So I think just having family that’s so supportive that comes to every game just makes this college life a lot easier.”
The twins followed in their father’s footsteps, starting basketball young and eventually committing to Duke.
“Being around the game for so long just has helped us fall in love with the game,” Cayden added.
The Boozer twins and No 1 Duke take on No 2 Connecticut on March29, for a chance to reach the final four.
