The message came after the Warriors announced that Moody had surgery in Los Angeles following the injury he sustained on March 23 in Dallas. The team said the procedure was successful and that Moody will miss the remainder of the 2025–26 season.

Moses Moody Shares First Message Since Surgery

Moody posted earlier in the day, marking his first public comments since the injury and surgery.

“I appreciate all of the love,” Moody wrote. “Every challenge I’ve been through in life I’m glad I went through. I’m sure I’ll feel the same about this.” 💪

The 23-year-old Warriors wing is expected to begin rehabilitation immediately, with the team planning to provide an update on his progress during training camp next season.

Steve Kerr Details Moody’s Response to Injury

Coach Steve Kerr said Moody handled the news of the injury with composure after undergoing an MRI.

“I talked to him today after the MRI. And he’s in pretty good spirits,” Kerr said during a radio appearance on 95.7 The Game. “He’s kind of an old soul, Moses.”

Kerr said Moody discussed the next steps, including surgery and recovery, shortly after learning the diagnosis.

“As bummed as he is, he’s very practical,” Kerr said. “He talked about surgery and how this is going to play out… he’s handling it really, really well.”

Devastating ACL Injury Ends Moody’s Career-Best Season

Moody’s injury came during the most productive stretch of his career.

He appeared in 60 games, including 49 starts, and averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He shot 40.1% from three-point range and made 151 three-pointers, becoming the 14th player in franchise history to reach that mark in a single season.

He scored 23 points in a 137-131 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks earlier in the month, adding three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals.

Warriors Adjusting to Moody’s Absence

Moody’s absence removes a key rotation player for Golden State.

He had taken on a larger role on the wing, providing perimeter defense and floor spacing. The Warriors have also dealt with other injuries this season, including time missed by Stephen Curry.

Coach Steve Kerr has indicated that Moody is not expected to return early next season, placing his timeline into the middle portion of the 2026–27 campaign.

Focus Turns to Long Rehabilitation

Moody now begins rehabilitation following surgery.

Recovery from a patellar tendon injury typically spans several months, with progress measured in stages before a return to full basketball activity.

Curry’s message reflects the support Moody has received from teammates as he starts that process. Several teammates and fans also responded to Moody’s post online, adding to the visible support as he begins his rehabilitation.

For the Warriors, Moody remains part of the team’s long-term plans, with his development paused but not altered by the injury.
