Mike Brown lands new intriguing praise about SGA drawing fouls

SGA went 13-of-16 from the free-throw line against New York, and Brown had some interesting words to offer.

In his postgame media presser after the New York Knicks sustained a 111-100 loss on their Sunday showdown against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Mike Brown dropped another interesting praise about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

"His ability to control his body. His body control is amazing, not only that. He knows when to attack, how to attack and who to attack and then he still has the awareness of where everybody is on the floor," Brown told reporters, via Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News.

"If he feels any contact at all, he knows how to twist his body to get a call."

Brown and the Knicks found themselves being terrorized by Gilgeous-Alexander's offensive brilliance again. In 37 minutes, the reigning league MVP erupted for 30 points and four assists.

But as it is, a significant portion of SGA's total points came from free throws. The Canadian superstar nailed 13 of his 16 shots from the foul line against the Knicks.

Notably, in their previous matchup earlier this month in New York, Brown already offered a back-handed compliment on Gilgeous-Alexander's foul-drawing tactics.

Gilgeous-Alexander, who remains on the hunt for his second consecutive league MVP trophy, is tied with Deni Avdija for the NBA's second-most free-throw attempts per game this season (9.2), only behind the league-leading Luka Doncic (10.1).
