Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been speaking on the current issues at the club right now.
Hasselbaink was one of the greatest strikers of a ball that I’ve ever witnessed play the game. He could hit a ball from anywhere and generate raw power. He used to score some fine goals for Chelsea.

And he says that one of Chelsea’s problems right now is they just aren’t taking enough shots, and he’s spot on.

In quotes released on Football London this week, Hasselbaink said:
“Chelsea needs more goals in them. However you put that in the team, Chelsea needs more goals. There are a few games that they don’t score; they don’t have enough shots. I think that’s a combination for the whole team. I think they can improve in that area, but they can also improve by keeping more clean sheets.
The club has decided, rightly or wrongly, to go only young. That is their prerogative. They need to give them time. You need to give that time because you’re not going to get instant success.
“Obviously you need results, but the players need to know he’s going to be there, because when players know that he is going to be changed, that body language and their way of being is different. When they know the manager has the power to do everything… players react differently. It’s just a fact.”

There’s also a load more speculation around the future of Cole Palmer, with the Manchester United noise just not disappearing. Palmer, like Fernandez, is obviously pretty disgruntled with things at the club right now.
Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has joined in on that debate as well and give his opinion on what Palmer needs to do to become successful.
