Marcus Rashford has made a major change at Barcelona

Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford has implemented a major adjustment following punishment from Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.

Last September, the England forward faced disciplinary action for arriving two minutes late to a team meeting, resulting in him being benched for their clash with Getafe. Despite claims that his security card had failed to work properly, he was omitted from the starting lineup.

Flick had ordered players to attend a 9:30am briefing on match day, followed by an 'activation session' at 11am. Nevertheless, sources close to Rashford confirmed he didn't appear until 9:32am, leading Flick to implement his rigid punctuality policy.

The German manager is renowned for his uncompromising stance on tardiness, with players routinely dropped for turning up even a minute or two late.

During that occasion, Flick chose instead a front three comprising Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Raphinha, with the team securing a 3-0 victory at the Nou Camp, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Rashford swiftly learnt to ensure the identical error wouldn't occur again and now turns up 30 minutes early according to the Daily Mail.

Rashford has adapted well in Catalonia following a challenging period under former United manager Ruben Amorim. The forward was sidelined by the Portuguese manager, leading to a brief loan stint at Aston Villa before he finalised a season-long transfer to the Spanish titans.

With his loan spell drawing to a close, Barca have the option to make the move permanent for £26million, but his long-term future is still up in the air.

Reports indicate that the La Liga powerhouses are not intending to make a decision until the season's end.

Regarding a potential return to Old Trafford, the Daily Mail suggests that even with a change of management at United, a summer reunion is far from a sure thing.

His alleged £325,000-a-week wages 'do not fit comfortably' within the current Old Trafford framework, which favours incentive-based contracts with lower basic salaries.

It's also highlighted that if a permanent switch to the Camp Nou doesn't come to fruition, a loan elsewhere remains a possibility and with the World Cup on the horizon, that could provide him with a crucial opportunity to catch the eye of potential suitors.
