Incoming Chelsea Star Geovany Quenda Transforms His Body for the Premier League: Reports

Reports have revealed that Geovany Quenda, who will be joining Chelsea in the future, now has greater muscle mass and power, both of which make his body better prepared for the demands of the Premier League. The 18-year-old winger has been recovering at Chelsea’s Cobham training facility for the past few months after having surgery on the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.

Chelsea had initially put off Quenda’s return to Sporting because they were worried about how much muscle mass the young player had lost after his surgery. The Blues put the talented winger on a specific programme to help him get back in shape over the course of two weeks. The programme has clearly worked, as the teen is now in great shape and ready to compete at the highest level.

The reports also admitted that Quenda’s main goal right now is to get back to the right wing at Sporting CP and finish the season with double-digit goals and assists. In the 2025/26 Liga Portugal season, he has scored one goal and assisted on four others in 661 minutes of play. This means he has a lot of work to do in the last few weeks of the season.

Sporting’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Arsenal on 7 April is a possible return date for the winger. This gives Chelsea fans an early chance to see how their new star does against top Premier League teams. Quenda should announce his return on this stage, especially since he became the youngest Portuguese player to score in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season.

After the season ends, Quenda will focus right away on trying to get a starting spot at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea paid €50.8 million for the winger, with possible extras bringing the total to €52.1 million. He signed a seven-year contract with the option to add another year. The Blues think of him as a pure right winger who can fight for a starting spot right away.

Chelsea Fans Could Get a Sneak Peek at Quenda

Chelsea fans keeping an eye on their investment will find it interesting that Quenda might return in time to play against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals on 7 April. Sporting have made it to the last eight after a memorable 5-3 aggregate comeback against Bodø/Glimt in the round of 16. They scored five goals during the second leg to complete a historic turnaround.

On Tuesday, 7 April, the first leg will be held at the Estádio José Alvalade. The second leg will be held at Emirates Stadium on 15 April. If Quenda plays in the tie, it will be his first competitive game since December and a big test of how ready he is for Premier League football.

As part of the same deal, Chelsea also signed midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting. There have also been rumours that the Blues also want to sign Sporting’s Maxi Araújo. For Quenda, playing well against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal would send a strong message ahead of his move to West London in the summer.
