Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior will be looking to bolster his ranks this summer

Chelsea are closely ‘monitoring’ Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix, according to TEAMtalk. The Eagles could face a battle to keep the centre-back this summer. The report adds that Liverpool, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich are also interested in him ahead of the next transfer window.

The Blues have lost their last four games in all competitions. Liam Rosenior’s side are sat in 6th place in the Premier League as they look to make the Champions League again. Next up is an FA Cup clash against Port Vale this weekend following the international break.

Chelsea keen on Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix

Chelsea could see Lacroix as someone to bolster their defensive department. If he joined, he would boost the Blues’ options at the back. In addition, he could help the London outfit tighten things up in front of Robert Sanchez.

Lacroix, 25, has been a key player for Crystal Palace since he joined them back in 2024. Prior to his move to England, he had spells at Sochaux and Wolfburg. He has made 86 appearances for the Eagles in all competitions, 43 of which have come in this campaign, and he has chipped in with four goals.

The France international, who has one cap to his name, stands at 6ft 3inc and he has become one of his current club’s most prized assets. They lost Marc Guehi to Manchester City in January and are now at serious risk of losing another of their key men. Chelsea would need to see off competition from the likes of Liverpool and Aston Villa if they were to lure him to Stamford Bridge.

After signing for Crystal Palace, Lacroix said at the time: “It’s like a dream for a young football player. I’m really happy to be here and arrive at this good team. I watched Palace’s last games and I was really happy for the coach, because I’d played under him before. I think it’s the right moment to move to the Premier League.”

Meanwhile, their chairman Steve Parish said: “We have watched Maxence play at the very highest level of European football and we are delighted to be able to welcome him to Selhurst Park. He is another young, talented player to add to the club, and I am sure he will prove himself to be a valuable asset for Oliver and the squad.”
