2026 NFL Draft: Four Day 3 CBs That Will Outperform Their Selection Spot

While the 2026 cornerback class has a handful of top-tier prospects that will hear their names called in the first round of the NFL Draft, there are some values to be found on Day 3. Here are four cornerbacks that bring a mix of solid college production, high-level athletic testing, and scheme versatility that gives them a chance to contribute early and potentially develop into starters. Keep an eye on these names as the draft reaches Round 4. More than one team should come away with an undervalued player for their secondary.

Julian Neal, Arkansas (Projected: Round 4)

Standing at 6′-2″ and weighing 203 pounds, Neal brings good size and length for the cornerback position. A three-star recruit out of San Francisco who began his career at Fresno State, Julian transferred to Arkansas and immediately took on a starting role in 2025. That year would see him post 55 tackles (32 solo), two tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups, and two interceptions. His physicality shows up on film, especially in press coverage and run support, where he utilizes his frame to reroute receivers and shed blocks.

Neal’s combine performance has boosted his stock. His numbers include a 4.49-second 40-yard dash, 40″ vertical, and 11′2″ broad jump. Julian uses his arm length to his advantage on contested catches. While there is work to be done with mirroring, his ball skills and competitive toughness make him a solid fit for secondaries that covet press CBs.

Julian Neal athletically comps well to Jeffrey Okudah from Ohio State. Okudah was the No. 3 overall pick, so there is an obvious difference in skill level entering the NFL. However, Neal does possess the necessary physical gifts, and if the opportunity arises for a chance to start on the outside, a team targeting Neal could end up the beneficiary of taking a chance on Julian’s upside.

Gridiron HeroicsChristian Lance currently ranks Julian Neal at No. 77 overall.

Davison Igbinosun, Ohio State (Projected: Round 4)

Measuring in at 6′-2″ and weighing 190 pounds, Igbinosun dominated at Union High School in New Jersey before making his first collegiate appearance at Ole Miss, then finishing at Ohio State. Davison turned heads at the Senior Bowl, displaying his ability to break up passes in drills throughout the week. In 2025, Igbinosun posted 29 solo tackles, two interceptions, and eight passes defended.

Davison’s athletic profile includes a 4.45-second 40, 34″ vertical, and 10′ broad jump. While there are some concerns here regarding low numbers for explosion and questions about his ability to garner reps in zone coverage, his ability to remain healthy and his willingness in run support make him a Day 3 value. Davison can be an immediate special-teams contributor while also offering the flexibility to grow into a starting or backup safety.

Davison Igbinosun athletically profiles similarly to Tray Walker of Texas Southern, with an obvious pre-draft difference being that Davison has a more rounded game at this point in his journey.

Gridiron HeroicsChristian Lance currently ranks Davison Igbinosun at No. 91 overall.
