Puka Nacua and his future with the Los Angeles Rams is suddenly viewed as a lot of baggage. It’s not a secret that the star receiver is in line for a blockbuster extension worth roughly $43 million per year. Howeverm, NFL fans are not thrilled with the idea after his latest off-field controversy.

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Nacua is facing a civil lawsuit accusing him of biting a woman and making antisemitic remarks. The 24-year-old has strongly denied the allegations and plans to countersue. A new video later surfaced showing Nacua asleep in a sprinter van while the accuser danced nearby.
Nonetheless, the timing could not be worse for contract talks. Following Seattle’s massive four-year, $168 million extension for Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Nacua’s market exploded. League chatter suggests the Rams star could top that number and land a deal approaching $44 million annually. Fans, however, are split. Many blasted the idea of handing a near-$200 million contract to a player facing off-field questions.
One fans said, “Thats a lot of money to give a loose cannon.”
Another wrote, “Yeah give this immature stupid kid a boat load of money – watch what happens.”
One X user tweeted, “Paying the guy whos clearly the next Antonio Brown record breaking money is definitely the right choice for the Rams.”
“You give this drunk that kind of money……once he gets paid, his numbers will go down every year,” tweeted another.
One more fan said, “Let’s hope he grows up & can handle it. That part of his life is not promising so far..”
“He’s going to immediately be toast. Im sorry he’s just not right in the head and he’s gonna fold. Book mark this,” commented another.
Off-field controversies aside, Nacua has been elite. In three NFL seasons, he has averaged 95 receiving yards per game and scored 19 touchdowns.

Puka Nacua Lawsuit Takes Wild Turn
Puka Nacua’s legal battle took another dramatic twist Friday after the woman accusing the Rams star withdrew her request for a temporary restraining order. Madison Atiabi’s attorney, Joseph Kar, said the move was made so his client could focus entirely on her civil lawsuit against Nacua.
Atiabi alleges Nacua made an antisemitic remark during a Los Angeles outing on Dec. 31, 2025, before biting her shoulder hard enough to leave visible teeth marks. Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, blasted the claims as a “shakedown attempt” and said the alleged bite was merely minor horseplay.
