Episode Two of Xylem’s Rainmakers series follows the progress of the new rainwater harvesting football pitch in Teotihuacan, Mexico, as the project moves closer to completion.

The latest episode sees builder and content creator Daniel Ashville at the building site to check on progress and learn more about the technology that will help provide a reliable source of water for the local community, while also creating a safe place for young people to play football.
Since construction began, work has progressed on the underground infrastructure that will support the rainwater harvesting system and the installation of Xylem’s water pump technology, which will allow the site to capture and store up to 600,000 litres of rainwater each year.

Once operational, the system will collect and filter rainwater on site, making it suitable for everyday community use.
Alongside the tech installation, the episode highlights the role football will play in the project.
The new pitch will provide a dedicated space for local young people to play in a safe environment, supporting regular football activity and community programmes with Young Leaders.
