Odell Beckham Jr. #13 of the Wildcats FFC looks on during the Fanatics Flag Football Classic at BMO Stadium.
There’s been a lot of chatter this offseason surrounding a potential reunion between the New York Giants and their former star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Fan interest makes sense; he’s a legend in young Giants fans’ minds, and New York certainly could use as many pass catchers as possible to surround second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart with.
But Beckham hasn’t played in the league since 2024, and he wasn’t exactly the most productive in that last season with the Miami Dolphins.
Regardless, he’s a free agent, and it wouldn’t hurt the Giants to kick the tires on a player who clearly has interest in coming home.
Head coach John Harbaugh addressed the potential reunion for the first time at the 2026 owners’ meetings.
John Harbaugh on Odell Beckham Jr. Reunion
Beckham Jr. and Harbaugh spent time together with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 and have ties that could work in favor of the New York Giants.
Harbaugh told reporters that a reunion is not off the table and that he and the former All-Pro stay in communication.
“The obvious pat answer would be you look at every option, right? And if Odell’s an option, then we’ll be looking at it, for sure. And he and I do talk, and we do text, and we’ve maintained a really great relationship. He’s one of my very favorite people in the world,” Harbaugh told reporters.

John Harbaugh was asked about Odell Beckham Jr.:
“We’ve maintained a really great relationship. He’s one of my very favorite people in the world.”
On a possible Giants reunion: “The obvious pat answer would be you look at every option.”
“We’ll just have to see where it all goes. You know, what’s best for him, what’s best for the Giants. That’s the number one thing. It is what’s best for our team and any player. You know, if he helps you be a better team and can make you better, then you’re going to pursue that. So we’ll just have to see where that goes.”
It’s not like it would cost a massive contract to bring Beckham Jr. back into the fold. In all likelihood, he could be had for the veteran’s minimum.
If Harbaugh is open to it, and from his comments, it seems like he may be, bringing in the former 12th overall pick, at least to compete for a roster spot in training camp, wouldn’t hurt.
Do the Giants Need Another Wide Receiver?
Wide receiver is a position that the New York Giants have done their best to address so far throughout free agency.
After losing Wan’Dale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans, they went after multiple veterans to try to replace him in the aggregate, including former Pittsburgh Steeler Calvin Austin and Atlanta Falcon Darnell Mooney.
Those additions were solid, but neither expects to fill the void left behind by Robinson.
Outside of Malik Nabers, the Giants don’t have a lot of star power for Dart to throw to. Beckham Jr. may not be the star he once was, but at 33, he may have just enough left in the tank to give New York what it needs on the outside.
A trio of Nabers, Darius Slayton, and Beckham Jr. looks good on paper. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see if the Giants put pen to paper with their former Offensive Rookie of the Year.
