Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will want to add some more quality to his squad this winter

Chelsea are ‘keen’ on AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, according to CaughtOffside. The report adds that the player is valued at around the £65million mark with his contract running until June 2029. Liverpool and Newcastle United have also been mentioned as suitors.

The Blues were beaten 3-0 away at Everton in their last Premier League outing. They have now lost their last four games on the spin in all competitions. Liam Rosenior’s side are back in action this weekend with an FA Cup tie against Port Vale.

Chelsea interested in AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara

Chelsea could do with some competition and depth in midfield for Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez. Camara is someone who would be a useful addition if they managed to lure him to Stamford Bridge. At the age of 22, he has bags of potential and would be a solid long-term acquisition.

Camara, who is a Senegal international with 39 caps to his name, made his name at FC Metz and broke into their first-team as a teenager in Ligue 2 and helped them win promotion to Ligue 2 during his time there before heading out the exit door. Monaco then came calling in 2024 and he hasn't looked back since.

He has made 64 appearances in all competitions for his current club to date, 25 of which have come this season, and he has chipped in with two goals. They could now face a serious battle to keep hold of him in the next transfer amid links to Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Rosenior is starting to feel a bit of pressure amid his team’s poor form. Pundit Paul Merson has recently delivered his verdict, as per Sky Sports: “It's been a bad month for Liam Rosenior at Chelsea. That's four games on the trot where they've been smacked. They can't win one game. There are ways of losing football matches and that was a horrible, horrible watch at Everton. It didn't look to me that the players were really on the same page as the manager.

“If Arne Slot got the sack at Liverpool this week, or if Eddie Howe left Newcastle, would Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior have got one of those two jobs? I'll go one further: would he even get an interview? It's madness.”

He added: “This Chelsea team don't sit pretty at all with the fans, who have put Rosenior under pressure from day one. But the board - whatever plan they've got - you'd think Rosenior would need to get into the top five for them to be happy.”
