Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate is projected to be a first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Another Buckeyes wide receiver that is projected to be a first-round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft is Jeremiah Smith.

Smith last season with Ohio State caught 87 passes for 1,243 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns, along with averaging 14.3 yards per reception. Smith is 6’3″ and weighs 223 lbs. He is no doubt the best wide receiver in college football. With that being said, was there any chance that he was going to leave Buckeyes nation?

Buckeyes wide receiver Smith has gotten potential chances to leave Ohio State to other colleges. Well, he has decided that staying in Columbus, Ohio has benefited him for the long haul. Smith said,

“I was always going to be at Ohio State.”

This is not a surprise. He won a national title in 2024-2025 with them. Smith was once again one of the best wide receivers in college football last season. He has a chance to prove himself during his junior season. If Smith dominates again during his junior season, then he will have a good chance to go number one overall in the 2026 NFL Draft.
