Arsenal are said to be favourites to land an up and coming striker this summer.

Arsenal are being linked with a move for a new striker as they consider their options at the top end of the pitch. It has been an excellent season for the Gunners, even with their Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City during the weekend before last. The quadruple may be off the table, but the treble is still very much alive for Arsenal, and the Premier League title looks the most likely of all.

This summer, the recruitment situation is going to be an interesting one for the Gunners, who have had obvious needs for a decade or more, given they have not been in a successful position for some time.

But this summer, it’s not obvious where there is a glowing need, with this Arsenal squad bursting at the seems with quality and depth. Arguments can be made for different positions, of course, but obvious needs are rarely present for a title-winning team, and Arsenal are likely to be a title-winning team.

One position that is likely to lead debate is the striker position, with Gabriel Jesus’s future likely to be discussed. The Brazilian is not a regular starter and he may well want to be, while Mikel Arteta seems to love Kai Havertz, so it would be a surprise if he left. As a recent investment and a player who has delivered goals, Viktor Gyokeres will remain at the club without question.#If Jesus does lead, he will need replacing, with Arsenal going to want three strikers on their books, and there may be a leading candidate.

According to Bild, Arsenal are leading a number of interested clubs in the race to sign Club Brugge’s German striker Nicolo Tresoldi. The 21-year-old Germany under-21s international has 17 goals across all competitions at club level this season, including three in the Champions League.

Christian Falk has claimed that Arsenal are currently ‘favourites’ to land the talented frontman, who could fit the profile of a third striker, given his age would mean he is not expecting to be an immediate starter at a top club, while he could develop alongside fellow countryman Havertz and another top striker in Gyokeres. A reported asking price of up to £26million has been floated ahead of the summer.
