“Withdrew Their Rules Change Proposal”: NFL Fans Explode Over the Cleveland Browns Withdrawing…

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry has been known for doing ridiculous things throughout his tenure with the organization. Berry recently requested a rule to the NFL that draft picks should be traded as far as out as five years in advance instead of three years in advance.

Well, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported, “Sources: The Browns withdrew their rules change proposal that would have allowed teams to trade draft picks up to five years in advance rather than the current three.” This is not a surprise that they withdrew. There was no one that was going to accept this anyways.

There are a lot of NFL fans who reacted in an interesting way to this Browns proposal. This is what some Cleveland fans had to say about this on Twitter:

2030 and 2031 draft picks are safe for now 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Five years out would’ve been chaos 😭

That would’ve let teams mortgage entire futures we’re talking: full rebuild bets, Rams style moves on steroids, GMs gambling jobs YEARS ahead. League probably looked at that and said “yeah… let’s not do that”

Must have seen Mcvay interview this morning 😂

Teams would trade all their picks away because most gms and coaches don’t even last five years. Three is plenty

In other words they were getting laughed at before it even went to a vote

There are a lot of general managers and owners that are happy that the Browns withdrew from this anyways. Cleveland would have probably found a way to trade picks that far out anyways. With that being said, Berry and the Browns will probably trade away some of those picks when the time comes also.
