Todd Bowles Contrasts Logan Hall & A’Shawn Robinson

March 30th, 2026

New Bucs defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson.

Did the Bucs upgrade at defensive tackle this offseason?

Gone is Logan Hall to the suffocating defense of the Houston Texans on a two-year, $14 million contract. In his place is veteran mauler A’Shawn Robinson on a one-year, $10 million deal.

Bucs head coach/defensive coordinator Todd Bowles addressed the swap during a semi-private chat with Joe before the start of the NFC Coaches Breakfast this morning in Phoenix.

“I think Logan is a little more athletic than A’Shawn; A’Shawn brings a lot more toughness and stoutness and sturdiness,” Bowles said.

Interesting assessment from Bowles considering Hall, the Bucs’ first pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, spoke out recently and said in Tampa he was asked to “stand and bang, fight the good fight” but looks forward to doing more pass rushing in Houston.

So it seems Robinson is much better suited to do what the Bucs asked of Hall last season.

Joe likes the toughness upgrade with Robinson. The Bucs need more angry workers to prevent a repeat of whatever happened on defense in the final weeks of last season.
