The Las Vegas Raiders believe they got the right guy at head coach in Klint Kubiak, and multiple head coaches are quick to explain why he’s the one Las Vegas has been searching for.

“We had to be patient,” Raiders general manager John Spytek said during Kubiak’s introductory press conference. “We had to let him go win a Super Bowl, which we were more than willing to do. So, we’re super proud of him for accomplishing that, and he stood out with his leadership, with his humility, with his work ethic, with his intelligence. We called many people around the league and got glowing reviews on him too. So, it made it a difficult but easy decision for us, and I’m really proud to welcome him to Raider Nation as a partner.

Looks like Spytek wasn’t lying about receiving “glowing reviews” on Kubiak from people around the league, with multiple head coaches showering him with praise during the 2026 NFL annual league meeting.

Several prominent head coaches didn’t hold back on their praise for Klint Kubiak.

Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, said that Kubiak is an “asset” to any player he has worked with. “Anybody who has been coached by Klint truly appreciates the type of person he is,” Shanahan added.

Kevin Stefanski, head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, also added a detailed explanation on what makes Kubiak the guy from when they worked together in Minnesota.

“For us as coaches, what we are striving for is authenticity and being genuine,” Stefanski said. “I learned a long time ago that you just have to be yourself every single day and you can’t be someone different. You can’t try to be this coach or that coach. You just try to be who you are, and I think players respond to that. Klint is a great example of that. He’s the same guy every single day and he’s going to grind and do everything in his power to get that team ready to go.”

Mike Macdonald, head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, added that he wishes his time with Kubiak would’ve lasted longer, but he’s excited to see him get an opportunity as a head coach and believes he’s “such a team player.”

“The mentality he has, the messages he has for the offense, how he treats the rest of our staff, all those things are really important,” Macdonald said. “He’s gonna do a phenomenal job. He’s been around the game for so long. …It’s not a straight line by any means and there’s gonna be things [he’s] gonna have to work through, and he’ll do a great job.”

Despite All the Praise, Kubiak Still Needs to Prove His Worth

Receiving that type of praise for multiple established HCs around the league is such a rewarding feeling for not just Klint Kubiak, but also Raiders fans.

But he needs to prove that praise is warranted through his actions, and he knows that.

The Raiders finished 3-14 last season. Despite all the free-agent additions and talent they are going to add through the draft, it’s going to be a challenge for Kubiak to get this team back on the winning side of things, and it’s up to him to mold this team into a contender.

Just as Macdonald pointed out, this isn’t a “straight line by any means,” and Kubiak will have some bumps on the way, but the Raiders believe they have the right guy for the job. All that’s left is for Kubiak to prove it.
