Marc Cucurella has followed in Enzo Fernandez's footsteps and suggested that he could leave Chelsea in the near future. Cucurella, 27, is enjoying his fourth season at Stamford Bridge, having left Brighton in a deal worth up £63million in August 2022.
But the left-back has revealed that he 'always' thinks about returning to La Liga - and admits that he could tempted by a return to boyhood club Barcelona. Speaking ahead of Spain's friendly against Egypt on Tuesday, Cucurella explained: "You always think about going back. I'm very happy there (in London), and so is my family. I'll leave it for a few years from now."
But when asked what he'd do if Barca called, the Chelsea star confessed: "It would be difficult to refuse. It's not just about me. I'd have to think about my family. If it happens, it happens, and we'll see what decision is made."
His comments come after team-mate Fernandez revealed that he'll assess future after the World Cup. The Argentine has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Asked by ESPN Argentina whether he'd still be a Blues player next season, Fernandez replied: "I don't know. Right now I'm focused on here, then there's the World Cup, and we'll see."
The plot has thickened this week after the 25-year-old declared on YouTube channel Avirales: "I'd like to live in Spain, I really like Madrid; it reminds me of Buenos Aires. Players live where they want. I'd live in Madrid. I get by [speaking] English, but I'd be more comfortable in Spanish."
Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior addressed Fernandez's initial comments before the Blues' final game before the international break. "I had a great conversation with Enzo at length this morning before training, not just about his comments but how he is feeling, how as a team we can improve," Rosenior said.

"He is one of the captains at the club and what I will say is that he made it really clear how happy he is here at this club, how much he wants to win and how passionate he is for us to be successful.
"He also said that in translation and in emotion, things get misconstrued. For me, he is fully committed to this group and to winning here at this football club."
Chelsea are back in action this Saturday, hosting League One side Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
