Arsenal have already clinched one new summer transfer arrival with Mikel Arteta also having hinted at a second permanent signing. The Gunners have been on an upward trajectory under the Spaniard for several years and are in the driving seat of the Premier League title race.

Despite losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City earlier this month, the north London side are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and Champions League with three trophies still up for grabs.

The likelihood of the club's success hasn't stopped Arteta and the club's sporting director, Andrea Berta, from preparing for the future while bolstering their first-team quality. Arsenal confirmed the signing of Daniel McCarron last month with the 16-year-old set to join the club in the summer as a scholar.

Currently playing for Northern Irish side Dungannon Swifts, the teenage centre-back is a Northern Ireland youth international. He likely won't be the only signing the Gunners will make this summer following the end of Piero Hincapie's loan spell.

The Ecuador international joined the club last August from Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan with an option to buy him for £45million. At the time of his arrival, it was reported a five-year contract between the two parties had been agreed if Arsenal triggered the buy option.

Almost eight months into his Arsenal career, Hincapie has become the club's starting left-back and has already played 31 times this season. While his future has yet to be officially announced, Arteta all but confirmed his plans to keep Hincapie beyond this season last month.

Speaking before Arsenal's 2-1 victory against Chelsea four weeks ago, the Gunners boss was asked about whether he plans to permanently sign the defender to which he answered: "I would say so. Let's go through the season. We have already discussed the possible outcomes that we have after that period.

"But so far, we are very, very happy with him. He's been extremely dominant in all the defensive actions. He understands what we want in the attacking part as well much better, all the set-pieces, all the aspects that are relative to the game model that we have.

"He's very much liked amongst the players, you can see that the way they interact and react with him. I'm very pleased that he's showing that level." Continuing to build on their acquisitions of young talent, Arsenal have already secured the 2027 arrivals of several highly-rated starlets.

Shamrock Rovers midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna and Independiente del Valle's twin stars Edwin and Holger Quintero are also set to join the north London outfit next year.
