After Enzo Fernandez appeared to hint at possible move away from Chelsea, Marc Cucurella responds to Barcelona return question

Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella said that he's content at his current side but didn't rule out a Barcelona move if the Blaugrana come calling. The Spaniard has been at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2022.

Cucurella, 27, has scored nine times and assisted 12 in 154 games across competitions for the Blues. That includes a goal and three strikes in 41 outings across competitions this season.

Despite being contracted to Stamford Bridge till 2028, murmurs persist about the Spaniard's possible La Liga return. However, Cucurella summarily dismissed them, saying that he and his family are settled in London now and have no immediate plans of returning to Spain (as per Flashscore via PyS):

“You always think about coming back. I’m very happy at London and Chelsea, so is my family, I’ll leave it for a few years from now.”

Asked if Barca come calling, Cucurella said that he would think about it if such an eventuality happens:

“It’s clear that if those situations arose, they’re difficult to recuse, I’d have to consider it and talk to my family, I’m not thinking about that right now, if it happens, we will see what decision to make.”

It's pertinent to note that Cucurella's Blues teammate Enzo Fernandez might be on the move this summer, with the Argentinian not ruling out a possible exit at the end of the season.
