'He prefers': Raheem Sterling's teammate wants move after being linked with Chelsea

The summer window is fast approaching, and Chelsea are expected to have another busy one under the guidance of Todd Boehly, and one option is Feyenoord’s Anis Hadj Moussa.

Last summer, the Blues spent the best part of £300m on new signings, and already this time around, the club are set to welcome the additions of two new players: Emmanuel Emegha and Geovany Quenda.

But it is unlikely that Chelsea will stop there. The Blues are expected to prioritise signings in defence and a new goalkeeper, while more attacking options could be brought to the club as Liam Rosenior reshuffles.

The Arsenal red card, the ballboy, and now this!

One player Chelsea have been regularly linked with since the January window is Feyenoord attacker Anis Hadj Moussa. The Paris-born Algerian star has had a hand in 17 goals for the Dutch side during 2025-26.

In January, it was reported that Chelsea had held talks over the possible signing of the 24-year-old star. Largely a right winger, Hadj Moussa can play anywhere in attack and would be a versatile Chelsea option.

But Chelsea are not alone in pursuit of Raheem Sterling’s Feyenoord teammate. Africa Foot claim that Liverpool, Man United, Sunderland, and Leeds would also like to bring the player to the Premier League.

Not only are English sides interested, either. Al Hilal want the Algeria star to make the move to the Middle East, but Hadj Moussa’s agent Mohamed Dahmane says his client wants to move to Europe this summer.

“I am not in the habit of hiding anything, so there is currently no offer from the Saudi management of Al Hilal for Anis Hadj Moussa. The star of the Algerian national team prefers a European destination.”

It has been a tricky season for Feyenoord, with PSV running away with the Eredivisie title. Robin van Persie has had to deal with a team largely in transition, with little motivation, given PSV’s lead at the top.

But Hadj Moussa has been a rare shining light for van Persie. Recently, the Feyenoord gaffer highlighted why Premier League and Saudi Pro League sides are showing interest in the former Lens and Vitesse star.

He said: “He always has that ability to create magical moments out of nothing. Overall, he’s making huge progress,” after a 3-1 win over Greek side Panathinaikos in Europe, in which Hadj Moussa scored.

Is the step up from Feyenoord to Chelsea too much to handle for the Algerian star? Who knows. One thing is clear: the winger will be on the move and the Premier League is his likeliest destination.
