REPORT: Arsenal Star Who Was Described As“Fearless”By Declan Rice Has Been‘Offered’To Premier League Rival

Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly has been “offered up” to Manchester United by intermediaries, according to reports.

The Daily Mail reporter Nathan Salt, who has inside information on the goings-on at Old Trafford, claims the Red Devils are seriously considering whether to make a move for the teenager.

It’s been a dramatic decline for Lewis-Skelly, who this time last year was praised by teammate Declan Rice for being “fearless” after scoring on his debut for England against Albania.

During the current international break, the defender has been with the Under 21s, playing the full 90 minutes in a European Championship qualifier in which the Three Lions drew 1-1 with minnows Andorra.

Lewis-Skelly is third-choice left-back

The 19-year-old has fallen down the pecking order since the start of the season. The arrival of Piero Hincapie on an initial loan deal from Bayer Leverkusen has really limited his minutes.

Injuries to first-choice Riccardo Calafiori have, once again, given chances for others to step up, but Hincapie (rather than Lewis-Skelly) has been the main beneficiary.

While the Ecuadorian has featured regularly in recent weeks, Lewis-Skelly hasn’t even made it off the substitutes bench for a league game since the draw against Liverpool in early January. He has started just once in the Premier League all campaign.

Arsenal are set to make a big decision that will impact Lewis-Skelly

Reports suggest that Hincapie’s move to the Emirates will be made permanent this summer, and if that does happen, it could push Lewis-Skelly towards the exit door.

Even if Manchester United do table an offer, the youngster would still have to consider whether it is the right move for him. Luke Shaw remains first-choice, so there is no guarantee he would get regular game time at Old Trafford either.

Nonetheless, it does appear as if Lewis-Skelly will have a massive choice to make on his future this summer.
