This offseason has been a busy one for the Dallas Cowboys. At the beginning of it they did a fair amount of reassessing in figuring out just what went wrong in 2025. Clearly there were a lot of contending options.
Much of the focus since has been on the defensive side of the ball. Dallas hired a new defensive coordinator in Christian Parker and has spent time (and resources) outfitting his group with new players like Rashan Gary, Jalen Thompson, and Cobie Durant (to name a few).
It is fair to say the Cowboys should be proud of what they have done to date.
It goes without saying that the work is never truly done when it comes to building an NFL roster. This is something that Stephen Jones discusses a lot, after all.
Stephen loves to say that roster construction is a 24/7/365 proposition in the NFL, and speaking at league meetings in Phoenix on Monday, he noted that he feels like the Cowboys have done a solid job with their opportunities so far in 2026.
The most important avenue of roster construction is still to come for the Cowboys as the NFL draft is less than a month away. It is there when Dallas will wield their most premium assets of this offseason with their multiple first-round picks and it stands to reason that they too will be spent on defense.
Do you agree with Stephen? Do you feel like the Cowboys have accomplished a lot so far in 2026?
