Luiz Henrique drops Arsenal hint after talks with Gunners duo

Brazil forward Luiz Henrique has opened the door to a potential move to Arsenal, praising Mikel Arteta's side and revealing he has already spoken to two of the club's key players.

The 25-year-old Brazil international operates primarily from the right flank and began his journey at Fluminense, joining the club at just nine years old before progressing through the academy ranks and making his senior debut in 2020.

Now the winger has outlined his admiration for Arsenal's style of play and admitted he would welcome the chance to work under Arteta.

"I really like Arsenal, the way they play, aggressive. They play a lot on the left and right, so I'm keen to play for Arsenal," he told Flashscore.

"I've already spoken to Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli, they say the team is excellent, they really like (coach) Arteta, they say he's always listening to the players. God willing, I'd like to have the opportunity to work with him."

The comments come at a time when Arsenal continue to prioritise attacking reinforcements, with Arteta keen to add depth and versatility in wide areas ahead of next season.

Henrique also spoke about his relationship with Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti, highlighting the Italian's man-management style.

"He's a guy who doesn't just look at one player. He's always talking to all the players, he always wants the players' opinions. He's a father to us. He always wants to hear where we like to play, in what position we like to play - that's important for the group to feel good on the pitch."

With the World Cup on the horizon, the forward is focused on maintaining his form to secure a place in the squad.

"I'm really looking forward to it, I realise I'm just one foot away from the World Cup. I have to continue this work with the national team and my club so that I can be called up by the coach in the final straight."

Henrique earned a move to Europe with Real Betis in 2022 and while he featured regularly in Spain across domestic and European competitions, he struggled to fully cement himself as a central figure, finishing with four goals in 64 appearances.

A return to Brazil in January 2024 proved pivotal as Botafogo made him the most expensive signing in the country's history, and Henrique responded with a standout campaign that reignited his international prospects.

That form earned him a move to Zenit in January 2025, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further year, keeping him tied to the Russian club until at least 2028.
