Joao Felix is a talented football player from Portugal. Many people thought he would become a big star in Premier League. He joined Chelsea in August 2024 for a lot of money. But things did not go as planned. In January 2025, he left on loan to AC Milan. Later, he opened up and shared why he really wanted to go.
Time at Chelsea Was Hard

Joao Felix did not just leave because he was unhappy at Chelsea. He really liked Milan. In a big interview with Gazzetta dello Sport in May 2025, he explained everything. He said he had been watching Milan games even before the offer came. “I thought, ‘I’d like to play in that shirt’,” he told the newspaper.
When the offer arrived, it was easy for him. He called his agent, Jorge Mendes, and said, “Do everything possible to reach the deal.” It all happened quickly. He added that Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world, like Barcelona or Real Madrid. “Wearing this shirt is different,” he said. “When Milan comes calling, it’s hard to say no.”
No Bad Feelings – Just a Smart Move
Joao Felix left The Blues in a good way. The club and the manager understood. Maresca said it was a good option for the player. Everyone was happy for him. There were no fights or angry words. Felix stayed professional until the end.
