Simms thinks the bridge is burned because of how Aiyuk handled his business. He says the team is ready to let him sit until they get a deal that actually helps them.
According to Simms, the receiver really hurt his standing with the front office. “He screwed them over multiple times. There’s really no other way to say it,” the analyst recently explained in Pro Football Talk show.
This drama changed how the team views him. They are no longer trying to be his friend. They are treating this like a cold business move because they feel disrespected.
The team usually tries to keep players happy. Simms noted that this situation is different. “This isn’t one of your stories ‘He’s been great to us. He’s been awesome’,” hesaid.

The 49ers are now willing to wait for a desperate team to call. If a playoff contender loses a guy to injury in training camp, the Niners will finally move.
They are looking for a mid-round pick in return. They do not care about Aiyuk’s feelings at this point. The front office is playing the long game to win big.
Simms thinks the team will say they actually do not care about the player at all. This harsh reality shows how bad the relationship has become over the last year.
Brandon Aiyuk’s 49ers career highlights
Brandon Aiyuk became a key part of the San Francisco 49ers’ offense after they drafted him in 2020. He played 69 games for the team. He finished with 294 catches and 4,305 yards. He scored 25 touchdowns.
Aiyuk reached 1,000 career receiving yards in only 21 games. This made him the fifth-fastest player in team history to hit that mark. As a rookie, he caught 10 passes in a single game. This tied a record held by Jerry Rice.
His best season was in 2023. He recorded 1,342 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. He led the NFL in yards per target with 12.9 yards. His 17.9 yards per catch was the second-highest in the league. These numbers earned him Second Team All-Pro honors.
