The Gunners need to regain their momentum after the Carabao Cup final defeat to Man City, and get back on track ahead of the run-in in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Arsenal could do with a reliable goal scorer to boost their chances of winning the Premier League, something that they hoped Gabriel Jesus would have become. However, Jesus looks as though he could leave in the summer as his current contract is due to expire in 2027.
Arsenal set to battle Man Utd for Ferran Torres
In terms of potential replacements for Jesus, Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Barcelona striker Ferran Torres. The Spaniard moved to the Nou Camp in 2022 after leaving Manchester City, where he failed to make a regular impact.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal and Man United are both interested in signing Torres in order to upgrade their attacking options. It is understood that the 26-year-old could leave Barcelona in the summer after falling out of favour with Hansi Flick.
Barcelona need to sell for financial reasons too, so the Gunners and United could get a cheaper deal for Torres. His current contract is due to expire in June 2027, and Torres has an estimated market value of around £42m at the moment.
This season, Torres has made 40 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 16 goals, and providing one assist. He is a proven goal scorer both in the Premier League and the Champions League, and could be a fantastic replacement for Jesus in the summer.
