The wide receiver position has been a massive topic of conversation around the San Francisco 49ers this offseason. While the likes of Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and Kendrick Bourne have all either joined new teams or are likely to have played their last snap with the Niners, GM John Lynch has taken the necessary steps to help replace these players.
They signed future Hall of Fame wide receiver Mike Evans to a three-year deal and veteran deep threat Christian Kirk to a one-year deal. But those apparently might not be the only moves that the team could make at the position. In Bleacher Report’s latest mock draft, San Francisco has been predicted to draft Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion at pick No. 27 overall.

Here is what Bleacher Report’s Dame Parson had to say about Concepcion’s possible fit with the 49ers:
“KC Concepcion is one of the draft’s most dynamic receivers. He feels like a seamless fit for Kyle Shanahan’s West Coast offense. Concepcion is great in space by using his playmaking ability from multiple alignments to create coverage mismatches. He is an easy separator and a three-level threat for quarterback Brock Purdy to attack man and zone coverages.”
An All-SEC wide receiver and All-American playmaker in College Station this past season, Concepcion proved why he is one of the league’s top prospects. Concepcion was one of two SEC wide receivers to record at least 60 receptions, at least 15.0 yards per reception, and at least nine touchdown catches. If he were to bring that production to the Bay Area, head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense could explode in 2026.
The 49ers Are Hungry for a Super Bowl

The 49ers are starving for a Super Bowl title. They have not brought a Lombardi Trophy back to the Bay Area since the 1994 season. While Shanahan and Lynch have built a consistent winner during their decade-long tenure together, the team has not been able to climb the entire mountain.
Since 2017, the 49ers have won at least 10 games in five seasons, claimed three NFC West titles, made four NFC Championship game appearances, and had multiple Super Bowl appearances. While this team has had to deal with major injuries almost annually, it has not been able to completely overcome them. Last season, All-Pro players George Kittle, Fred Warner, and Nick Bosa all missed major time.
But the team’s offseason additions of Evans, Kirk, and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa have proven that San Francisco isn’t just lying around and wallowing in self-pity. With six draft picks inside the first four rounds of the upcoming draft, the Niners have plenty of opportunities remaining this offseason to continue to build on a winning roster. After winning 12 games a season ago despite a rotating quarterback cycle, Shanahan, Lynch, and Co. appear to be primed for another Super Bowl-contending season.
