Todd Monken missed NFL's head coach photo in most Browns way possible

Every year in the offseason, NFL teams all get together for around a month until the NFL Draft, and this year was no different. Down in Arizona, NFL coaches, owners, and general managers all meet in person, including the Cleveland Browns.

As part of these meetings, all 32 coaches typically get together for a group photo, and this year was no different. However, Browns head coach Todd Monken and Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay weren't present.

And according to Mark Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Monken's reason for missing his first NFL head coach's photo since getting his head coaching gig was for the most Browns reason possible: he was getting a haircut for the photo.

Todd Monken missed NFL HC photo due to a haircut

"Browns head coach Todd Monken solved the mystery on Tuesday of how he missed his first NFL head coaches group photo," Cabot writes. "Monken was actually getting a haircut expressly for Monday's photo, which is supposed to feature the coaches from all 32 teams."

The new Browns head coach missed his first NFL group photo for head coaches in the NFL because he was in the middle of a haircut for the photo. It's the most Cleveland Browns way possible he could've missed this photo.

But how did this even happen? Well, according to Cabot, "He thought he timed it up perfectly, because the photo was scheduled for noon Pacific time. It was even written on the agenda that way."

Apparently, the photo was taken right after a coach's meeting, which just so happened to end early, leading Monken to miss the photo shoot by 20 minutes according to Cabot's report.

It's an unfortunate situation for Monken, as he skipped the meeting to get the haircut for the NFL coaches' photo, which led him to miss the photo entirely.

But Monken is taking this in stride, as Cabot shared that "he joked he has plenty of incentive for going one-and-done, so he can make his first appearance in the photo next year."

Hopefully for Monken, the 2026 season goes well enough that he can keep his job and appear in the 2027 NFL coaches photo after accidentally missing the 2026 photo due to getting a haircut for the photo.
