Seahawks' ideal fit in Round 2 of NFL Draft is an Arkansas RB who ran a 4.33 40-yard dash

Coming off their incredible Super Bowl 60 win, the Seattle Seahawks knew that some bad news was coming in free agency. And they got that bad news in the form of Kenneth Walker III, their Super Bowl 60 MVP, leaving for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now, with Zach Charbonnet coming off a late-season torn ACL and Walker off the roster, the Seahawks have a big need at running back. They signed Emmanuel Wilson and have George Holani. But they need another viable starter this offseason.

They could draft one, and ESPN's Matt Bowen has one RB who is an ideal fit for the Seahawks. But, it's not in Round 1, and instead at the end of Round 2 with an Arkansas RB who ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in Mike Washington Jr.

Mike Washington Jr. is Seahawks' ideal R2 draft fit

"Washington could go later on Day 2, but he has the tape and speed to move up into the final slot of the second round," Bowen writes. "Seattle has a need at the position, as Kenneth Walker III signed with the Chiefs and Zach Charbonnet is still recovering from a torn ACL."

The 6-foot-1, 223-pound running back out of Arkansas would be an ideal fit for the Seahawks offense in the 2026 NFL Draft with the 64th overall pick.

While they could target a different running back earlier in the draft, Washington being the pick at the end of the second-round would be a very realistic option, and also an intriguing pickup.

His 4.33 time at the NFL Combine is very intriguing, as the Razorbacks running back doesn't just have the NFL size, but he also has the speed needed to be successful in the league.

Last year for Arkansas, Washington ran the ball 167 times for 1,070 yards and eight touchdowns, good for 6.4 yards per carry. His receiving work was also great, as he caught 28 passes for 226 yards and one touchdown, good for 8.1 yards per reception.

He is an older prospect, but the Seahawks are in win-now mode, so it's not a major hit to his draft value. Combined with getting him at 64th overall, this player-team fit in the NFL Draft makes too much sense for the Seahawks.
