WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Students at Wichita’s Griffith Elementary School had the opportunity to hear from a Super Bowl champion on Tuesday.
Former New England Patriot wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who is now an author, visited the elementary school.
At an assembly on Tuesday, he presented the students with his book titled “A World Within Reach.” Mitchell spoke with the kids about the power of the internet, as well as the importance of literacy.
“I’m happy to be in Wichita talking about how powerful using the internet can be, while also sending a message that I deeply care about, which is the power of literacy, and those two things coming together in one format,” Mitchell said.
This year, Mitchell created a non-profit that focuses on youth literacy, called Share the Magic Foundation.
