The Green Bay Packers continue to reshape their secondary as they prepare for the 2026 season. One of their key additions has drawn strong praise from general manager Brian Gutekunst.
Gutekunst spoke highly of newly acquired cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, emphasizing the traits that made him a target for the organization. His comments highlighted both the player’s physical profile and the team’s long-standing interest in his potential.

St-Juste brings size and length to the outside, attributes the Packers had been seeking to strengthen their defensive backfield. His ability to match up with larger receivers adds a new dimension to a unit looking for greater versatility.
According to Gutekunst, St-Juste has consistently performed at a high level when given extended opportunities. That evaluation reflects confidence in his ability to contribute immediately within Green Bay’s defensive system.

Gutekunst shared his thoughts about St-Juste, the franchise’s newest cornerback. This can be seen in an article by Wes Hodkiewicz for the team’s official website.
“Whenever he got his opportunity to really play, I thought he played a very, very high level,” Gutekunst said. “We liked him a lot coming out of the draft, his size and length on the outside is something we didn’t have a lot of, something we wanted to get. He was kind of a target for us. Took a little longer than I would’ve hoped but nice to finally get that down right as we started on Wednesday (of free agency).”
The move also represents the culmination of a pursuit that began during the draft process. Gutekunst indicated that the team had monitored St-Juste closely and remained interested in bringing him in when the opportunity finally arose.
As the Packers integrate new pieces into their roster, expectations for the secondary remain high. St-Juste’s addition could play a key role in strengthening coverage and helping the defense take a step forward in the upcoming season.
