Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones is one of the more controversial owners in the NFL. He is certainly the most outspoken and loves to make his opinion known to the public. That goes from his daily life all the way to contract negotiations with players. We saw that in full swing last off-season with Micah Parsons, which eventually led to their shocking trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Now just one year later it seems like Jerry Jones isn’t backing down from his opinion about agents.

Jerry Jones Tells His Own Player He’ll Make More Money Without An Agent
According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network:
Jerry Jones on George Pickens, whom the#Cowboys gave the franchise tag: “Make no mistake about it, we have long-term plans for Pickens.”
I asked Jerry Jones if George Pickens has said he wants negotiations to go thru agent David Mulugheta. Jones said he’s talked to agents over the years and has no issue doing that.
But… “If he worked without an agent, he’d save a lot of money.” After a pause, he added: “With me.”

What Is Current Wide Receiver Market In The NFL?
The highest paid wide receivers in the NFL are as follows:
Jaxson Smith-Njigba: $42.15M annually
Ja’Marr Chase: $40.25M annually
Justin Jefferson: $35M annually
CeeDee Lamb: $34M annually
DK Metcalf: $33M annually
It is very unlikely that Jerry Jones will want to pay George Pickens more than CeeDee Lamb’s $34 million annually. It will be interesting to see what kind of worth Pickens feels he has in the league and if he could get more elsewhere in 2027.
Hopefully for Cowboys fans this doesn’t turn into another Micah Parsons situation.
