The New England Patriots were arguably the best team in the AFC last season, and quarterback Drake Maye was a large reason why.
Maye had a breakout season, leading the Patriots to the Super Bowl and finishing second in MVP voting to Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford.
The 23-year-old signal-caller threw for 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns, an 8 interceptions with a 113.5 passer rating.
Maye set the bar high in his second NFL season, and he’ll have sky-high expectations heading into his third.

Though he likely needed a decent amount of time to get over the Patriots’ Super Bowl letdown, Maye’s offseason has consisted of more than just sulking.
On Monday he was all over social media because he shaved his locks and rocked a buzz cut in support of charity. Maye’s head shaving took place at the 13th annual Saving by Shaving event, which raised $4 million for the Boston Children’s Hospital, according to event organizers.
“We love kids,” Maye told reporters. “They’re oftentimes the biggest fans of us players, and I think it’s just such a cool experience to be able to shine a positive light and to be there for them and help any way that we can.”
Maye’s new look took fans by surprise, many of whom hit the comment section on social media to share their strong reactions, which brought about a mixed bag from fans.
“The league ain’t ready for Drake Maye and his shaved head, aura +100,” one fan wrote.
“He has too much aura,” another agreed.
“Buzz cut ❎. Boss cut 😑,” a third fan replied.
“He looks like he is 9 years old,” one user joked.
“Hell yeah! Turning into 09 bald randy Orton. League’s in trouble this year,” another user quipped.
“Drake ‘Incline Hairline’ Maye,” scoffed another user.
“Why does he look 12 😭😭😭😭,” asked one fan.
“Bro lost all his aura in one haircut 😹😹😹,” one fan laughed.
“He looks like he’s 12 and he just got his summer cut,” another user posted.
