COACHES SALUTE TOMLIN
Mike Tomlin was the Steelers’ head coach and a fixture in the NFL for almost 20 years. He was even the league’s longest-tenured head coach for a little bit. However, Tomlin is out of the NFL now, stepping down from his position after last season. It’s still odd not to see him around, especially at the league meetings that are currently going on.
FOX insider Jay Glazer has hosted an event for NFL head coaches during league meetings for years. Tomlin, being Glazer’s friend, usually attended. While Tomlin wasn’t there this year, Glazer shared on Twitter that he and the head coaches raised a glass to salute Tomlin. It’s nice to see Tomlin’s peers respecting him.
One of my favorite days of the year!!! Our 18th annual NFL Head Coaches day-drinking day at the NFL Owners Meeting. I started this with Mike Tomlin 18 years ago (yes, we raised a glass to him) to get the head coach fraternity to bond together, bounce things off each other, ask… pic.twitter.com/3nye2GG26J

FOURNETTE RECALLS RUN AGAINST PITTSBURGH
The Steelers haven’t won a playoff game in almost 10 years. They’ve had plenty of good opportunities, though. They were one of the best teams in the league in 2017, going 13-3. However, they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the playoffs. Pittsburgh lost to Jacksonville in the regular season, too.
The Jaguars won the regular-season matchup 30-9, and they capped it off with a 90-yard touchdown run by Leonard Fournette. Fournette recently reflected on that play on his 4th and South podcast. His co-host, former NFL wide receiver Jarvis Landry, couldn’t believe he had such a long play in his career. Fournette mentions that his coaches wanted him to go down, but his eyes were on the end zone.
DIRECTOR TALKS STEELERS
The Steelers are one of the NFL’s most historic and accomplished franchises. While it took them a while to start winning games, they dominated once they did, winning four Super Bowls in the 1970s. They’ve had other successful periods, too, including two championships in the 2000s.
Director Antoine Fuqua, known for films such as Training Day and The Equalizer, is from Pittsburgh, so he’s a big Steelers fan. Appearing recently on The Rich Eisen Show, Fuqua mentioned that if he could make a sports movie, he’d make it about the legacy of the Steelers. He’s incredibly talented, so hopefully, he brings that vision to life one day.
