Man United working on huge deals for Arsenal star and England defender

Premier League leaders Arsenal are back in action on Saturday when they visit Championship side Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Gunners sit nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and also remain in contention to win both the FA Cup and Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City in the final of the Carabao Cup last month, but the Spaniard will be optimistic about his side’s chances of winning at least one trophy this term.

In the meantime, though, it has emerged that one of Arsenal’s fiercest rivals are eyeing a move to sign one of their defenders.

As per indykaila News, Manchester United are convinced that Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly wishes to leave The Emirates and join the Red Devils.

The Englishman enjoyed a superb breakthrough season last term but has fallen out of favour over the past nine months and has featured just 14 times in the league so far this campaign.

While United remain confident that Lewis-Skelly is ‘desperate’ to secure a move to the club, it has also emerged that the Red Devils are in talks to bring another defender to Old Trafford.

The same report claims that Man United are in talks over a deal for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, 23.

The central defender is widely regarded as one of the best young players in England in his position but has been hampered bye injuries over the past 12 months, limiting him to just eight appearances for the Toffees so far this term.

Branthwaite is under contract at Everton until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, but it appears that Manchester United are attempting to sign the former Carlisle United man this summer in an effort to bolster their squad.
