Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is part of something that has nothing to do with the NFL this summer.
The Seattle Seahawks are still basking in the glow of their 2025-26 Super Bowl victory, and they should, because February 8 will go down as an important, and victorious, date in the franchise’s history. Now, the team is in the offseason, and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is making news of his own.
On Wednesday, March 25, the wide receiver talked to the press about his contract extension. The move makes him the highest-paid receiver in NFL history, according to team research.
“Really just stability and definitely comfortable,” he told reporters during the presser. “I feel extra protected, to protect myself and protect my family. This is a tough game, and it is a business, so just to get that part done, I feel like, definitely, there is a weight off my shoulders, just to go out there and be myself and just try to win, give it everything I have.”
He also gave him family props for supporting him throughout the years. “It takes a village,” he said. “My brother plays a big role in getting stuff done and allowing me to focus on things I want to focus on and build on things. And he’s my right-hand man… So, to have him is a blessing and something I don’t take for granted.”
Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba Makes Career Announcement Outside the NFL
On July 17, Smith-Njigba will host multiple youth camps through FlexWork, and one of those camps has already sold out. “Excited to announce Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be in Bellevue to host a youth football camp,” FlexSports Management stated on social media.
The camp takes place at Sammamish High School in Bellevue, Washington. His sessions take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (that one is already sold out) and between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
“Over the course of the day, Seattle star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and our FlexWork Sports coaches will guide your child through an exciting, high-energy day designed around fun and unforgettable experiences on the field,” the event’s official description states. “Camp activities include interactive sessions, skill stations, and unique opportunities to connect with our athletes in ways that make the game come alive.”

They add that “all campers will be grouped according to age so everyone feels comfortable, engaged, and able to enjoy the day at the right pace.”
If you’re interested, they ask campers to arrive dressed in athletic attire and “ready to dive into the experience.” Upgrades are also available with extras and goodies.
It’s a sweet activity for Smith-Njigba, who is so successful that he even helped his dad retire this year because of his lucrative Seahawks contract.
“He’s been training, throwing footballs at me since I was three years old,” Jaxon said of his dad during his Wednesday, March 25 presser. “I mean, he is the reason I’m here today. Just the leader and how strong he is physically and mentally, for us to live out our dreams. Definitely a lot of love for him. And I don’t take that for granted as well.”
