The value of AC Milan’s squad is behind that of rivals Inter and Juventus, according to the source Transfermarkt.
In a post on their social media, Transfermarkt have provided a graphic which shows a comparison of the top teams in Italy when it comes to the cumulative market values of their current senior squads. Serie A lags behind the major European powers, and Milan are no exception.
The most striking figure concerns the Rossoneri, who sit in 21st place in Europe with an overall valuation of €483.5m. This ranking – while still keeping Milan in the top part of European football – highlights a clear gap compared to the top clubs in the continent.
Making the picture even more significant is the complete absence of Italian teams in the top 10. The best representative of Serie A is Inter, which occupies 12th place with a value of €636.3m. Further behind are Juventus, in 16th with €544.2m. After Milan there is Roma in 25th place with €454.5m.
It is not all bad news, though. Since the summer window closed, the value of Napoli’s squad has gone down by €79m, whole for Inter it has decreased by €72m, and €39m for Juventus. For Milan, the value has gone up by €12m, but leading this ranking (in terms of increase) is Como at a remarkable €103m.
