Ranking 3 First Round Wide Receiver Prospects Linked to the 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have been eying wide receivers in the 2026 NFL draft. The top options, such as Jodyn Tyson, Makai Lemon, and Carnell Tate, are locks to be gone by pick 27. However, there is a chance that one or all three of Denzel Boston, KC Concecion, and Omar Cooper will be on the board. The 49ers have brought all three in for a pre-draft visit, showing the interest they have in taking one if they are there.

If all three receivers are on the board, how would they rank them?

Denzel Boston

Boston may have the most upside of the three receivers, but he is not the best fit for the 49ers. Boston is a big-bodied wide receiver who would be best in the X receiver role. Mike Evans currently holds that role, and while he can move around, the outside is where he thrives.

Ricky Pearsall does not have slot experience either, so the team would have to play Boston in the slot if they want to get him on the field early in his career. Boston does not have that skill set. They would only be taking him because of what he can do beyond Year 1.

KC Concepcion

Concepcion is shifty, quick, and works well with the ball in his hands. That automatically makes him a strong fit for the 49ers. He performed well on the outside as a true freshman and worked in the slot for the most part last season. So, as a rookie, they can get him on the field, and as he progresses, they can work him in different ways. His frame is a bit smaller

Omar Cooper

Cooper is similar to Concepcion. He played outside as a sophomore and played in the slot last year. Last year was when he exploded, though. Cooper is more physical in how he runs his routes and works with the ball in his hands compared to Concepcion. This is what makes him a great fit for the 49ers. Evans and Pearsall both work down the field. It is nice to have Cooper, who perfectly complements them by running his routes from the slot and can run his routes near the line of scrimmage, where the spacing is created.

Cooper has upside to be a Deebo Samuel-type asset, but for now, he is better than Christian Kirk. This is the player they should want to fall to 27.
