“Every player’s dream”–Bournemouth star transfer flirts as Arsenal and Manchester United circle

AFC Bournemouth forward Rayan’s rapid rise in England is no longer just about adaptation – it is now feeding into transfer interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

The 19-year-old arrived from Vasco da Gama in January and has wasted little time making an impression. He has already featured eight times for Bournemouth, starting seven matches, and has contributed two goals and one assist.

Those numbers only tell part of the story. Rayan has quickly established himself as a constant attacking threat, using his pace, strength and direct running to trouble defenders in the Premier League. His performances earned him a place on Carlo Ancelotti’s preliminary list and, soon after, a first senior call-up.

That call-up has also increased his visibility across Europe. Reports from Brazil have already indicated that clubs such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring his situation closely.

Interest from bigger clubs

Rayan has now addressed that growing attention directly.

“It is every player’s dream to be on a high-level shelf,” he said in an interview with Globo Esporte. “Bournemouth presented a very good project to me. By doing a good job there, whether other clubs are watching or not, they will pay attention.”

His comments show awareness of the situation without suggesting any immediate move. However, they also underline how quickly his profile has changed since arriving in England.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United had already been linked with Rayan before his move to Bournemouth. His strong adaptation to the Premier League now makes him an even more attractive option for clubs operating in that environment.

Therefore, Arsenal and Manchester United remain interested.

Rapid adaptation driving attention

Part of that growing interest is explained byhow quickly Rayan has adjusted, both on and off the pitch.

“Arriving there and adapting quickly is not easy,” he said. “Leaving the heat and going into the cold… Coming off the bench in the first game and getting an assist gave me confidence. Then starting and scoring an equaliser pushed that confidence even higher.”

The forward also highlighted the role Bournemouth have played in his development.

“The manager gives me a lot of freedom. He is Spanish, which helps with the language. In three months I managed to show my potential with good football, and that brought me here.”

That combination of opportunity and performance has accelerated his trajectory.

World Cup ambition remains

Despite the growing transfer noise, Rayan remains focused on his international opportunity.

“There is a lot of competition in my position, many good players who have been called up before,” he said. “But doing my job at Bournemouth can put me in the final list. Regardless of being there or not, I will support Brazil. But I hope to hear my name.”

At 19, he also recognises that his longer-term cycle may align more with the 2030 World Cup. Still, his current form has opened the door earlier than expected.

Now Bournemouth have a young attacker adapting quickly to the Premier League, earning a Brazil call-up and attracting attention from elite clubs.

If Rayan continues on this path, the interest from Arsenal and Manchester United is unlikely to fade. Instead, it could intensify as the market begins to move.
