Patriots Mocked To Select 54-Game Starting Tackle To Bolster O-Line

The New England Patriots are predicted to add some more offensive line help with the 31st overall pick.

New England has done a nice job giving Drake Maye more weapons this offseason, but the team has to do a better job protecting him. Maye was constantly under pressure in the Super Bowl and throughout the playoffs.

With that, NFL analyst Bruce Feldman predicted New England will select Clemson Tigers offensive tackle Blake Miller with the 31st overall pick.

“Miller, a former wrestler, started 54 games for the Tigers,” Feldman wrote in an article published on Wednesday. “The 6-7, 317-pounder with 34-inch arms had a strong week at the combine, running a 5.04 40 with a 32-inch vertical and a 9-5 broad jump as well as 32 reps on the bench press.”

Miller projects as a starting right tackle in the NFL and can come in and start right away.

“He’s a giant and he’s got enough athleticism to hold up against speedy edge guys,” said an ACC defensive coordinator to The Athletic. “He’s a good run blocker, not a great one, but the guy is pretty solid and probably will be a solid starting right tackle for a long time in the NFL.”

Regardless of whether New England drafts Miller or not, the Patriots are expected to pursue offensive line help in the NFL Draft.

The 2026 NFL Draft is set for April 23-26 in Pittsburgh.
