The Denver Broncos just got a dream offseason update, and it came with even more optimism than expected.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, quarterback Bo Nix is not only fully recovered from the ankle injury that ended his postseason, but he’s already operating without any limitations heading into the offseason program. In fact, the update went a step further than a standard clearance.
“Broncos QB Bo Nix is a full go for the team’s offseason program with zero limitations. He is fully recovered from ankle surgery. He’s actually further along than he typically is in his offseason conditioning program, per sources,” Schultz reported.
That’s a significant development for a team that saw its Super Bowl hopes shift dramatically after Nix went down in the divisional round.
What initially looked like an injury that could linger into the beginning of next season has now completely flipped.

The timeline surrounding Nix’s recovery has consistently trended in the right direction since January. However, this latest update confirms there are no longer any lingering concerns internally.
Team leadership made that clear at the NFL’s annual meetings.
General manager George Paton and owner Greg Penner both emphasized that Nix is ahead of schedule in his rehab process. Head coach Sean Payton echoed that confidence, reinforcing that the organization expects its franchise quarterback to be fully available when offseason activities begin.
Nix is already walking on his own and progressing through his conditioning program without setbacks. More importantly, he is on track to participate fully in OTAs in May. This is a key milestone for maintaining offensive continuity heading into the 2026 season.
Considering the severity of the injury, his recovery timeline has been extremely impressive.
And according to Schultz, it’s not just a return to baseline. It’s better than where he typically is at this point in the calendar.

That stance aligns directly with what the recovery update suggests.
There is no hesitation, no contingency plan, and no competition being considered.
The Broncos are fully committed to Nix, and now they have the medical clarity to match that belief.
After a second season that showed clear upward trajectory before being cut short by the heartbreaking ankle injury, this offseason suddenly becomes even more important.
