New England Patriots fans want a new receiver. A.J. Brown is the preferred choice of many, but any top pass-catcher will do.
Well, what about running it back with Julian Edelman?
Obviously, that isn't going to happen, as Edelman retired in 2021 and will turn 40 years old in May. But that didn't stop the Patriots legend from trying to dupe gullible fans with an April Fools' Day joke.
"Let's get to work," Edelman wrote Wednesday in an X post, which includes an official-looking graphic saying "Patriots Signing Julian Edelman".

One of the best receivers in Patriots history, Edelman racked up 620 catches for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns across 11 seasons in New England. He likely would've eclipsed 700 catches, 7,000 yards and 40 touchdowns had he not missed the entire 2017 campaign due to a torn ACL.
Edelman was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame last September.
