The Minnesota Vikings haven’t done much in the form of adding yet this offseason. They’ll further explore those opportunities later this month while utilizing their current crop of nine draft picks.
Kevin O’Connell and interim general manager Rob Brzezinski have been working through supplementing the roster. Often the interior defensive line, safety position, running back, and a few others are immediate considerations.
A sneaky spot of concern could be the wide receiver room. Jalen Nailor got $35 million from the Las Vegas Raiders, and not it will be on 2025 draft pick Tai Felton to step up. If Minnesota wanted to hedge their bets with a free agent though, one very familiar face is no longer an option.
No Minnesota Vikings reunion for KJ Osborn
Before Jalen Nailor could fly, he needed incumbent WR3 K.J. Osborn to leave town. That happened two years ago when Osborn signed with the New England Patriots after hitting free agency. He was released by the Washington Commanders during the preseason last year, but has now found a new home.

Osborn latched on with Washington at the end of 2024 for just a single game. He was in camp competing for a spot last season, but didn’t stick and ultimately never appeared in regular season action. In November Osborn landed on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad, but he was released in January.
In 2024 the veteran wideout was targeted just 18 times in eight games. He turned seven receptions into 57 yards and a touchdown. It has been quite some time since Osborn was last productive, during the 2023 season with Minnesota.
At his best, Osborn produced 655 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2021 season with the Minnesota Vikings. Now 28 years old, and turning 29 this season, Osborn is hardly the same player he was earlier in his career. He was still open to the idea of a reunion if Minnesota came calling.
In Tennesse, Osborn will look to fight for reps behind Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor, and Wan’Dale Robinson. Second-year quarterback Cam Ward will certainly welcome as many weapons as he can get.
