The London Blues Chelsea have set their eyes on another player, and this time it’s Kounde of Barca. Chelsea have been overwhelmed to see the development of the player under the coaching of the German coach Hansi Flick. Todd Bohley himself have shown interest in the player and is a big fan of his ball carrying abilities in the attacking third. It would be interesting to see if Chelsea can actually pull off the signing at the end of the season.
The European giants and London Blues Chelsea are not in a good state lately, as they have already lost several matches since the start of the year in the EPL. Liam Rosenior’s side have only managed to win one game out of their last five games in all competitions.
One of their weakest positions in their squad is the right flank, as Malo Gusto hasn’t lived up to the expectations recently. According to reports, Liam Rosenior have already enquired with the club’s management to bring some competitions in that flank.
On the other hand, Jules Kounde has been a key player under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, who are currently at the top of their league. Kounde is one of the most trusted players of Hansi Flick because of his versatile abilities on the pitch.
He also have many attacking contributions for the Spanish giants Barcelona. One of them came in the last season’s Copa Del Rey final as they beat Real Madrid due to his special goal. It won’t be that easy for Todd Boehly to take Kounde out of Barcelona’s defense.
Recent form of the Chelsea target Kounde at Barca
The French international Jules Kounde started off well this season as he partnered with Yamal on the right flank. In the first few games, Kounde was also able to get his name on the score sheet. But gradually things deteriorated a bit as the player’s form went downhill.
The player was unable to connect with his partner Lamine Yamal in the right flank, causing Yamal to track back. Things went worse when Kounde suffered a hamstring injury while playing a game for Barcelona. The injury took him out for almost one month as a result, Flick had to try different players in that position.
In the meantime, Xavi Espart has shown a flick that he can also become good competition for Kounde’s position. The good news is Kounde is back, and he will most likely start for Barcelona in a vital match against Atletico Madrid. Hopefully his peak form will be back the next time he plays a football match for the Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
Fan’s reaction regarding the rumors
The Chelsea fans are excited since the rumors of Kounde joining their club at the end of the season. The Chelseas have been relieved a lot after hearing the news, as they believe Jules Kounde can help their squad.
With Malo Gusto’s poor form, the fans were very concerned about their club’s performances in all competitions. They believe that Jules Kounde can be the one who can successfully replace Reece James in terms of a right back. The fans are also certain about Kounde’s versatility, as he can also play as a center back when needed.
On the other hand, Barcelona fans are concerned about Kounde’s potential departure at the end of the season. Barcelona’s fullbacks haven’t been at their best, and if Kounde leaves, it would be problematic for Flick to manage. Although Joan Laporta have assured the fans that Kounde will be staying at the club after this season.
Author’s insight
This would be a big signing for Chelsea if they can pull off this transfer. Jules Kounde might be the solution to their defensive problems.
