Jacksonville Jaguars Set to Play 2027 Home Games in Orlando as EverBank Stadium Gets Major…

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a good 2025 season, with an impressive 13-4 record in the regular season while topping the AFC South division. Though they made it to the playoffs, they were eliminated in the Wild Card Round by a narrow 27-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The franchise is currently undergoing some important changes ahead of the next season. They have decided to take a huge step for the future.

The Jaguars have [confirmed](https://x.com/Jaguars/status/2039092814630252679?s=20) that they will temporarily relocate to Orlando for the 2027 season, where they will play their home games instead of their current home EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville. The decision was unanimously approved by the NFL owners during the league’s annual meetings in Phoenix on March 31, 2026.

The decision to relocate is due to the franchise undertaking major renovations at the EverBank Stadium. First opened in 1995, it requires extensive upgrades.  It will undergo a $1.4 billion redevelopment project known as the Stadium of the Future, partly financed by the city of Jacksonville and team owner Shad Khan, with each party contributing roughly $625 million, while the city will also cover $150 million in pre-construction maintenance

Work has already started which will limit capacity in 2026 and fully displace the team in 2027. The work is scheduled to be completed by August 2028, with the team returning back to their home venue for the 2028 NFL season.

However, despite temporarily moving to a new stadium, the team will still train at its Jacksonville facility and will have to travel approximately 140-150 miles south for the home games. Importantly, 1-3 of their 2027 home games could be played internationally, though it is yet to be decided.

The Jaguars will play at least 10 games at Camping World Stadium, Orlando in the 2027 season, with nine regular-season home games and one preseason contest. Three additional home games could be played there if they qualify to the playoffs, with the maximum number of potential home games played at the new stadium being 13.

The Camping World Stadium was first opened in 1936, and has a rich history of hosting college football bowl games such as the Citrus Bowl. It has previously hosted professional football teams from leagues like the WFL, USFL, and XFL, and has staged six NFL Pro Bowls since 2017. The stadium is actually undergoing its own renovation worth $400 million. It will be completed by 2027, and will host over 65,000 people, along with upgraded luxury suites, concourses, concessions, and a new multipurpose event center.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will focus on the 2026 NFL season before they have to leave the EverBank Stadium for a year.
