In an ideal world, the Detroit Lions will hire a new team president who has both strong leadership skills and media saavy.
Many fans of the team would also like the next hire to have some sort of football experience.
Rod Wood told reporters at the owners meeting he is going to be involved in the hiring and onboarding process, when the position is officially filled.
"We’ll start meeting with them probably in earnest in April, we’ll kind of go through the lay of the land. We’ll do some initial screening of candidates," said Wood. "And then probably have a full interview panel with a few, including me and (owner) Sheila (Ford Hamp), Chris Spielman.
“And I think Bill Ford is going to get involved, and Lindsay Verstegen, our chief people officer. At the very end, I want to give Brad (Holmes) and Dan (Campbell) a chance to weigh in on the process and the person," Wood added. "In terms of what I’m looking for is the best person to lead the Lions."
In the spirit of April Fools' Day, lets explore three very intriguing candidates who could potentially lead the Lions better than Wood.

The leader of the UFC, White has turned the promotion into a global sensation. Given he is the face of the company, he is regularly confronting the media and displays a bold, direct leadership style.
With the league wanting to clearly expand to reach overseas markets, White could lead the Lions and have them among the most popular NFL team's and in several continents.

Having seen her father build WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) from the ground up, McMahon has been around one of the most successful entertainment companies for the majority of her life.
She could certainly network with league leaders to encourage the league to bring more marquee events to Detroit, including another NFL draft and possibly another Super Bowl.
If you have ever seen her in a WWE ring, who would say no to a McMahon?
Her ability to convey her ideas would be direct, succinct and she could instantly command a room, even with longtime reporters and new content creators.

If we are going to have a little fun, a comedian could keep things light and entertaining at all times.
When the Lions take some of Jared Goff's signing bonus back, Key could explain the decision in a way that could convince pundits and fans to agree with the idea.
Laughter is certainly the best medicine, so when the Lions again fall short of their goals, Key could deliver a keynote address in Detroit to make everyone jump back on the bandwagon super quickly.
While team president's should be focused on football matters, Key can be more of a face of the franchise hire, while Chris Spielman can have some new titles added to his resume and address how to get more to cash reserves to sign quality free agents to long-term deals.
