Indiana Football Pro Day Q&A: Lb Aiden Fisher details NFL Draft process, what IU means to him

Indiana linebacker Aiden Fisher participated in IU's Pro Day on Wednesday afternoon. After performing in various tests and drills, Fisher met with the media to detail his NFL Draft process, preparing for the Pro Day, coming back to IU for a final time and much more.

Fisher's full Pro Day Q&A can be viewed at the top of this story. Below are select excerpts from Fisher's press conference.

Q: How do you prepare for transitioning from the college level to the NFL?

FISHER: "Up until this point, it's been a lot of the combine-like training, a lot of stuff for the 40(-yard dash), the drill-specific, positio-specific drills that you see today. So now it's going to be kind of getting back in football shape, being able to transition back to football skills. But I think for a lot of us, you're just working on your body, and that's your nutrition, your recovery, your sleep. There's a lot of things I've learned that go into a body way more than just working out and stuff.

"So I've learned a lot just about how to control myself and what I control. I mean, it's a huge step to take, and I think all of us are pretty excited about it. I know I am."

Q: What's your sales pitch to NFL teams?

FISHER: "You're just gonna get the hardest worker in the room. I know, as cliche as it sounds, it's the truth about me, somebody that, I just want it more than everybody else. I put the preparation in, and I think if you watch me play football, you can kind of see how much I love football.

"So a guy that just has all the intangibles, that's a better athlete than what people give me credit for. I think it's just somebody that's going to come in and grind every day, embrace any role I'm given, and help a team win football games."

Q: What does it mean for Indiana to host a Pro Day with so much attention?

FISHER: "It's huge. It's not just an event that people came to after the Combine because it's the day after the Combine anymore. It's just another place where talent is coming out of here, and Indiana deserves the respect to have days like today to showcase that.

"Obviously we have a lot of good players, I think 23 in total here that have a chance to play at the next level. So I think that's huge, not only for Indiana University, but the state of Indiana, especially recruits seeing, why should you go to Indiana? Well, we're producing NFL talent, and we're showcasing it at the highest level with a lot of cameras in front of you. So it's definitely special for this program, especially."
