Chelsea are in talks to sign PSG striker Goncalo Ramos ahead of the summer window, a player Bruno Fernandes wanted Manchester United to sign in 2023.
Portugal striker Ramos has just played alongside Fernandes, Joao Felix, and Chelsea winger Pedro Neto for his country. Roberto Martinez’s side drew 0-0 with Mexico and beat Mauricio Pochettino’s USA 2-0.
In the last 24 hours, reports claim Chelsea want to sign Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain. It is claimed that Ramos has had enough with being a back-up striker under Luis Enrique and is eyeing a new chapter.

Plenty of clubs are after Ramos, but his preference is a move to England. Chelsea and Newcastle are in talks to sign the former Benfica ace, but the likes of Dortmund, Leipzig, Milan and Atletico are interested.
Bruno Fernandes wanted Goncalo Ramos at Manchester United
While he has struggled to start for PSG, Ramos has still managed to score 44 goals in 124 games for the French champions, and this season, he could be set to add a Champions League title to his trophy haul.
But Ramos is ready to leave, and Bruno Fernandes might be wishing Man United were in the battle for his signature. Quoted by Mais Futebol in 2023, Fernandes said he would love his club to sign the PSG star.

“He has all the qualities to play in the Premier League, and when I say the Premier League, I also mean Manchester United. I think he can become a major player in the coming years,” Fernandes said on Ramos.
“But it’s not yet in my hands to be sporting director. When it is, I will make those decisions. I believe he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world. I believe he has all the capabilities for that.”
What will Joao Pedro be feeling about possible Ramos signing
Of all the Chelsea players used by Liam Rosenior since the former Strasbourg manager’s arrival, Pedro is the one to show the most improvement. Not many have got better, but there is no doubt Pedro has.
FINAL: Who do YOU think should be Chelsea manager next season?
Going into the summer, Pedro’s stunning form under Rosenior will surely play some part in Chelsea deciding whether they need to sign a striker, and whether they sign a starting option or competition.
Should Ramos sign for Chelsea, he would not simply be a backup option to Pedro. He would be direct competition for the Brazil international, and that may disrupt Pedro’s rhythm. But Chelsea need more.
The drop-off behind Pedro is vast, with Liam Delap already being touted with the exit door, and Marc Guiu’s future likely to be elsewhere. Pedro may be worried, but ultimately, Ramos is what Chelsea need.
